Instructions to Authors

Journal of Basic Sciences publishes original research articles, short communications and review articles

Original Research Articles    :  

These should describe new and carefully confirmed findings, and experimental procedures should be given in sufficient detail for others to verify the work.  

Short Communications    :  

Brief reports on new and exciting results of high urgency, Sending us a report of significant interest, authors are asked to provide an explanation in their cover letter describing in detail why their contribution should be handled via rapid channel.  

Review Articles    :  

Submission of reviews and perspective covering topics of current scientific interests are welcome and encouraged. Reviews should be concise and no longer than 4-8 printed pages (about 14-20 manuscript pages). Review manuscripts are also peer-reviewed.  

Preparing your article for submission  

Manuscript preparation:  

It is essential for us that authors should prepare their manuscripts according to the instructions and specifications listed below. The span and effectiveness of the reviewing process will largely depend upon the care used by authors in preparing their manuscripts. Therefore, contributors are strongly encouraged to read the following instructions carefully before preparing a manuscript for submission to JOBS.  

Template is provided in order to allow authors to view their paper in a style close to the final printed form. Use of is template is optional. It should be noted that the use of the journal template is not a requirement and its adoption will neither speed nor delay your publication.  

Please read the following instructions carefully and convert your research in manuscript as:  

Page format:  

Manuscripts should be prepared as word processing documents on A4 or Letter size paper, leaving a margin (2 cm) on all four sides. The manuscript should be typed double-spaced throughout including references and tables.  

Fonts:  

Font must be Times New Roman and size should be 12 for the text.  

Tables:  

Tables should be numbered consecutively using Arabic on the top. Each table should have an explanatory caption which should be as concise as possible and Font size 10.  

Figures:  

Authors may use line diagrams and photographs to illustrate these from their text. All figures must be numbered with Arabic numerals. The number and appropriate caption will be given below the figure with Font Size 10.  

Title:  

A paper should have a short, straightforward title directed at the general reader( Font Times New Roman 14).  

  

Author names and affiliations:  

Full names for all the authors of an article should be given. Corresponding author should be indicated with * mark. Detailed affiliation of all the authors should be mentioned. The corresponding author will be signs a copyright license on behalf of all the authors.  

  

Abstract:  

 Authors must include a short abstract of approximately four to six lines that states briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results, and major conclusions(s). It should give the reader a clear idea of what has been achieved in the current research.  

  

Key Word's:    

Following the abstract, about 3 to 5 key words that will provide indexing references to should be listed.  

Introduction :  

Materials and Methods:  

Materials and methods should be given in detail sufficient to enable experienced experimental workers to repeat them. However, only truly new procedures should be described in detail; previously published procedures should be cited, and important modifications of published procedures should be mentioned briefly.  

Results and Discussion:  

Results should be presented with clarity and precision. Results should be explained, but largely without referring to the literature. The discussion should infer the findings in view of the results obtained in this and in past studies on this topic. The use of flow diagrams and reaction schemes is encouraged. Data must not be reproduced in more than one form, e.g. in both figures and tables, without good reason.  

Conclusions:  

State the conclusions in few sentences at eh end of the paper. This is for interpretation and to highlight the novelty and significance of the work. The conclusions should not summaries information already present in the text or abstract.  

Acknowledgements:  

An acknowledgement section may be included. It should be placed after the manuscript text and before the references. Information concerning research grant support, assistance of colleagues or any other notes of appreciation should appear in this section. 

 

References:  

These should be listed at the end of the manuscript in numerical order. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the information in each reference is complete and accurate. All references should be cited within the text; otherwise, these references will be automatically removed. Reference to the source of statements in the text should be made by use of superior numerals at the appropriate place (e.g., skpubs 1).  

The below mentioned reference style only should be used while citing articles from various sources.  

An article from a journal:  

P. J. Tambade, P. M. Nalawade; Tetrahedron Lett. (2014), 213, 37, 3255-3259.  

A book:  

P. J. Tambade, B. M. Bhanage; Catalytic carbonylation reactions, Nova Publisher, USA, (2012), 12, 133-174.  

From Thesis:  

P. J. Tambade, B. M. Bhanage (Ph. D. Thesis); Studies in catalytic carbonylation reactions, Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India 2011.  

Patents:  

P.J. Tambade et al., Indian Patent (2014).  

  

Peer Review Process:  

All manuscripts are reviewed by an Editor and members of the Editorial Board or qualified outside reviewers in the respective fields. Decisions will be made as rapidly as possible, and the journal tries hard to return reviewers’ comments to authors within 15 days. It is the goal of the JOBS to critically review the articles and on the basis of scientific merit publish manuscripts as soon as possible after submission. However, a submission may be declined by the Chief Editor without review, if deemed inappropriate for reasons other than scientific merit.  

Revised manuscript submission:  

When revision of a manuscript is requested, authors should return the revised version of their manuscript as soon as possible. Rapid action may ensure fast publication if a paper is finally accepted for publication in JOBS. Authors are supposed to submit revised manuscript within maximum 15 days. If these deadlines are not met, and no specific arrangements for completion have been made with the Editor, the manuscript will be treated as a new one.  

Final proofreading:  

PDF proofs for correction are sent by e-mail to the corresponding author. Please note that authors are responsible for the final proof-reading of manuscripts. This is the last opportunity to view an article before its publication on the journal web site. Proof corrections should be returned to the editorial office within 3 working days of receipt. Corrections at this stage should be minor and not involve extensive changes. All corrections must be sent at the same time. No modifications can be introduced once it is published online.  

Reprints:  

After publication, the corresponding author is notified by email, and receives a PDF file with the published version of the manuscript.  

Transfer of Copyright Agreement:  

Submission of a manuscript signifies that the work described has not been published before (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, or thesis) that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere; that if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors agree to automatic transfer of the copyright to the publisher.  

Transfer of Copyrights Agreement should be signed, scanned and sent via email to the Editor of the journal (editor@skpubs.com)  

Processing Charges:  

The processing charges for all the types of articles mentions are Rs.1500/ for Indian authors and U.S $60 for foreign authors.
