Multimodal Biometric Recognition System Based on Face and Voice: A Hybrid Approach

Abstract:  

Multimodal Biometric based recognition system has been extensively studied in the last few decades. In particular the multi trait biometric system. In this paper a multi trait based hybrid approach has been proposed. On the basis of the experiments performed to evaluate the proposed system with traditional multi trait biometric system, it is found that the proposed appr oach gives better performance.

Impact of Chromolaena odorata (Asteraceae) on vegetation of the northern Western Ghats of Goa and adjacent areas of Karnataka and Maharashtra

Abstract:  

Biodiversity of the Western Ghats is under great threat due to invasion of exotic species. Chromolaena odorata (L.) King & H.E. Robins. (Asteraceae) is one of the world worst weeds which caused great ecological environmental loss. In the present study, reconnaissance survey in forest and grassland ecosystems of Goa and adjacent areas of Maharashtra and Karnataka have been carried out to identify the infested patches of C. odorata. The comparative studies were carried out between infested and adjacent intact patches by 10 × 10 m. quadrat method. The total 84 infested and 84 non-infested quadrates were studied. The exclusive presence of plant species in infested and non infested quadrats and common to both is studied. The results showed a strong negative correlation between weed area and canopy gap as well as weed area and number of herbs and saplings which indicates decreased number of herbs with increased patch size.

Energy Transfer in Atomic-Molecular Collisions (Ar-N2)

Abstract:  

There has been a renewed effort, over the last few years, to develop reliable approximate descriptions of the molecular collision dynamics.  One approach has been to reduce the number of equations, which are coupled together, and to retain the physically important couplings.  Even with these reductions, the close coupling methods remain difficult in the determination of the inelastic cross sections.  Another set of approximate methods has therefore, been developed which involve only the solution of uncoupled differential equations (Balint-Kurti 1975, Balint- Kurti and Levine 1970, Levine and Balint-Kurti 1970, Tsein and Pack 1970, 1971, Secrest 1975). The two most widely used methods of this latter type are the Exponential Distorted Wave (EDW)  (Levine et al. 1970 and Balint-Kurti 1975) and the Infinite Order Sudden (IOS)  (Tsein and Pack 1970, Secrest 1975) approximations. The IOS is more reliable for low total angular momentum (J) quantum number whereas EDW is good for higher J values but is a more time consuming method

Assessment of efficient cropping zone for Rice and Bajara in AkoleTahsil

Abstract:  

A physiographic and climatic condition determined different efficient cropping zones. The quantity and quality of crop yield can be affected by water stress, heat stress or frost or by pests and diseases. As climate conditions change, efficient cropping zones for the cultivation of specific crops may shift. It is important to understand such changes to farmers, planners, policy makers and land managers for developing adaptation strategies. The objective of the study was to detect village wise crop efficiency in AkoleTahsil in Ahmednagar District. Relative Spread Index (RSI) and Relative Yield Index (RYI) were computed for determination of village wise efficient cropping zone. The present study is based on the village wise data regarding the cropping patterns procured for last twelve years from the Government Offices. This study examined, using records from 2001 to 2012, changes in yield, the area under cultivation, and production efficiency of Rice and Bajara. The map of the village wise efficient cropping zone for Rice and Bajara has been prepared using the different criterion of efficient cropping zone with help of this GIS (Geographical Information system) software. About 16% villages show efficient cropping zone for Rice, but the same villages failed inefficient cropping zone for Bajara.

Evaluation of different soil samples from eight different nearby places from Akkalkot. Akkalkot is located in Solapur District. The study of soilrevels that the quality and present status of pollution from the different sampling stations of Akkalkot. The study emphasis on the status of soil with respect of following parameters i.e. pH, NPK, chlorides, conductivity, water holding capacity and organic matter of the soilfrom the different sampling stations of Akkalkot. This study will become useful to farmers to the select the crop verities in cultivation practice.

Metrics of the Singular Hypersurface

Abstract: 

A solution of the Einstein equations is by definition cosmological if it can reproduce the (Friedmann 1922, 1924), (Lemaitre 1927, 1931),  (Robertson 1929, 1933), and (Walker 1935)  (FLRW)  metric by taking limiting values of arbitrary constants or functions.  It has been a conventional wisdom in cosmology that the FLRW models successfully describe the large scale properties of our observed Universe, even since the 1930ies. At the same time, it has been a conventional wisdom in the general relativity theory that finding exact solutions of the Einstein equations is extremely difficult and possible only for exceptionally simple cases. These both views were challenged repeatedly by lonely rebels, but a few generations of physicists and astronomers have been educated with these conventional wisdoms solidly incorporated into their minds.  As a result of it, a large number of literatures have come into existence in which exact solutions generalising FLRW were derived and applied to describe our observed Universe.   There are various inhomogeneous cosmological models in literature and a great majority of them are based on L-T model [Lemaitre (1933), Tolman (1934)].
